ww2dbaseThe 5-centimeter PaK 38 (L/60) anti-tank gun design was developed in 1938 by the firm Rheinmetall-Borsig AG. The design was approved for mass production in 1939. They were typically each crewed by five men. These weapons first saw combat in Apr 1941 against Soviet tanks. In terms of production, they were superseded by 7.5-centimeter PaK 40, but they would remain in service until the end of the European War. 110 of them were exported to Romania in Mar 1943; they would remain in service until 1954.During the design's production life, 9,566 examples were built.
