ww2dbaseGeorges Jacobs was an officer of Belgian colonial troops prior to WW2. During the German occupation, he served as the commanding officer of the Belgian volunteer unit Walloon Legion of the German military at the rank of captain commandant between Aug 1942 and Jan 1942, during which time he largely oversaw anti-partisan activities in Ukraine. Due to severe morale problems with the legion, the German military replaced him with Hauptmann B. E. M. Pierre Pauly.
