ww2dbaseMircea was a Gorch Fock-class barque was built by the German firm Blohm und Voss in Hamburg, Germany in 1938 for the Romanian Navy. She shared the exact dimension of the lead ship, Gorch Fock, while other sister ships were slightly longer. Under the Romanian banner, she served as a training ship on the Black Sea. After the war, she was taken by the Soviet Union as reparation, but was later returned to Romania. She was overhauled in Hamburg by Blohm und Voss in 1966, and received another overhaul in 2002. She remains an active ship with the Romanian Navy at the time of this writing in 2021.
