ww2dbaseDestroyer Alfredo Oriani participated in the Battle of Matapan in Mar 1941, in which she sustained damage. In Jun 1942, she successfully attacked the Allied convoy for Malta during Operation Harpoon. After the Italian armistice, she was interned at Malta. When the European War ended, she was given to France as war reparations, serving as the French destroyer D'Estaing until 1954.
