ww2dbaseBell was a named for Rear Admiral Henry H. Bell of the United States Navy. Between commissioning and Nov 1943, she patrolled and escorted convoys in the North Atlantic. On 6 Nov 1943, she joined the Pacific Fleet, arriving in Pearl Harbor on 27 Nov. She participated in many campaigns in the Pacific including Marshall and Mariana Islands campaigns. After the war, she remained in Asia at Okinawa, China, and Korea, until 14 Dec 1945. She was decommissioned in 1946 and was sunk as target on 11 May 1975.
