I have a very old book:
Ships History Log Book of the USS Spadefish SS411 - wanting to sell or just get more information on.

Tessie,
I'm the grandson of a Spadefish sailor, all of the sailors aboard when the boat returned to Mare Island in 1945 received a copy of the ships logs, this was a arranged by one of the sailors bartering with the employees at Mare Island.
Are you a relative of a Spadefish sailor?
