KLM Accused of Helping Nazis Flee

8 May 2007

Dutch airline KLM, now part of Air France, is facing calls for an inquiry into reports that it helped Nazi war criminals escape to Argentina after WW2. Unauthorized transportation of Nazi war criminals was deemed illegal by the post-war Allied occupation government. KLM acknowledges the possibility this might have occurred, but denied that the company knowingly assisted the war criminals. KLM spokesman Bart Koster stated that the company "would welcome everything which could help clarify what may have happened".
