Whilst the description "A beach on Kwajalein....." seems accurate it hardly covers the full content of the image - I see at least 9 dead Japanese in the gulley and surrounds and would guess these have been dragged from the bunker on the left - quite a gruesome sight and undoubtedly a common one for the USMC.
