  • German submarine U-107 attacked US sailing vessel Cheerio with gunfire 20 miles west of Puerto Rico at 1102 hours; she was driven off by a US patrol aircraft, but Cheerio would soon sink from the damage; all 9 aboard survived. Alaska

  • Italian torpedo boat MAS-571 sank Soviet submarine ShCh-214 in the Black Sea south of Yalta, Ukraine. ww2dbase [CPC]
