ww2dbaseZ45 was laid down by the DeSchiMAG shipyard in Bremen, Germany in Sep 1943, and the ship was initially projected to be launched in Apr 1944. The lack of priority for surface ships by mid-war, however, meant her progress was slow right from the start. On 24 Jul 1944, it was decided that the Z45 project was to be abandoned, and her parts were to be removed to repair destroyer Z39. She was broken up on the slipway in 1946.
