ww2dbaseSergeant Dennis M. Smith was a photographer with the AFPU (Army Film & Photographic Unit) Number 5 Unit of the British Army in Europe. Notably, he landed in the Netherlands by glider on 17 Sep 1944 together with airborne assault troops participating in Operation Market Garden. During that action, he was wounded on 24 Sep 1944 and was sent back to the United Kingdom for treatment.
