ww2dbaseBoris Pavlovich Kudoyarov was born in Tashkent, Russian Turkestan, Russian Empire (now Uzbekistan) in 1898. After some time working as a policeman, he served in the Red Army between 1918 and 1920. He published his first photographs in 1924. During the war, as a photographer for the publication Komsomolskaya Pravda, he documented life in besieged Leningrad, Russia. He would follow Soviet troops as they moved into southern Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. He retired in 1949. He passed away in Moscow, Russia in 1973 and was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery.
