ww2dbaseAnatoliy Garanin was born in Moscow, Russia in 1912. During WW2, having already achieved some reputation as a photographer, he worked as a war correspondent. His colleagues noted him as someone who had the intuition on the right moment to press the button on his camera. In 2008, his sons donated over 200 of his works to the news agency RIA Novosti.
