ww2dbaseChang Gui Fong was the leader of the 4,000-strong Brethren of the Green Circle pirate gang based on an island at the mouth of the Yangtze River on the Chinese coast. His influence covered the region between Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province and central Jiangsu Province, including the city of Shanghai. Although officially on the payroll of the Japanese, his anti-Japanese sentiments led him and his gang to become informants, guerrilla fighters, and saboteurs for Chinese Army intelligence chief General Dai Li.
