The seaplane ramps at Tanapag Harbor are still in serviceable condition today, and in fact one of them is currently used for hauling marine vessals (up to sixty feet in length) out of the water for maintenance.

The other makes a fine radio controlled model sailing platform during the day and is frequented by star gazers and and young lovers at night.

My Father ,Arthur William Young, was a crew member of VPB-27 squadron and served in combat in WW2 on Mariner receiving the Distinguish Flying Cross. I have the exact picture of Mariner from a Armed Forces newspaper article from 1945.
He died at 70 yrs old in1994.

My dad was also on that plane,his name is Larry E Ziemer. Is still alive and remembers his days well on board that pbm 5.He is currently in St. Charles, Mn, reisiding at Golden living Nursing home. Still wanting to share his experiences of ww2

Father was Arthur W. Young and member of flight crew 12 with Eglies as pilot. Their plane , two others from VPB-27 and three from VPB-208 made the raid on *** convoy a night in April 1945. All made it back with injuries to some crewman.
