GOOD AIR-TO-AIR PHOTOGRAPH OF A TBM-C1:
Grumman TBM-1C assigned to Torpedo Squadron
Eighty VT-80. Later fought in the Pacific and operated from the USS Ticonderoga.
VT-80 returned to the USA, after WWII and was disbanded in 1945.
2,336 TBMs were built by the Eastern Aircraft
Division of General Motors, powered by
1xWright R-2600-20 Cyclone Air-Cooled Radial
Engine.
