Spitfire Mk.Vb flown by Capt.Steve N.Pisanos
flew with No.71 Sqn, RAF and transfered to
the USAAF in 1942.
He continued to fly Spits with the 334th FS, 4th FG, USAAF flying 106 missions.

The yellow bands around the National Insignia were applied for Operation Torch only. Photos showing aircraft with this feature can be fairly closely identified as to date and region.
