YOU GO GIRL! JUST ANOTHER SNAFU

Let me tell you boys I was busy there for awhile
oil coolant temperature in the red, hydraulic problem, radio inoperative, fuel feed problem, air speed indicator out, had to judge my speed on final approach.
Still had time to power my nose, and apply some lipstick and I'm good to go. Outside of a few problems it was a no sweat ferry flight, Say where are the other girl's flying those incoming B-17's...

Jacqueline Cochran (Born 5/11/1906 Died 8/9/1980 age 74, she was the founder and director of the (WASP) Woman Airforce Service Pilot.
During World War II she trained woman pilots from all over the United States to fly and ferry military aircraft around the country. She was an
Aviator, Test Pilot, WASP Director, Businesswoman and Spokesperson.

Once again, I thank the editor/ww2db for allowing me to present a little humor.

FLY JACKIE FLY:

After World War II Jacqueline Cochran bought a war surplus North American P-51B Mustang to fly in the Post-War Air Races.

SUPERSTITIOUS?

She had the fighter painted overall green with a large white number "13" painted on the fuselage side. She later entered the 1948 Bendix Air Races
with the same fighter and placed 2nd and 3rd.
