Information on above photograph:
B-25D-35-NC, "My Buddy" number 74, aircraft has been fitted with BTO(Bombing Through Overcast)radar array under nose.
Photo taken over Pacific approaching the
California coast on a training mission.
The BTO school's, were set up to train the
bombardiers in new techniques of radar
bombing. This would enable them to locate
the target, even if it was obscured by cloud
cover or darkness.
