Thank you for your comment. It turns out you have it half right but I had it all wrong. These are indeed Vindicators but their designation was SB2U (the TBD was the Devastator and these are not those). The caption and links have been updated.

Respectfully, these are not SBDs, these are TBD vindicators, a bit pre SBD. Marine TBDs suffered heavily out of Midway in the early attacks against the Japnse carrier force.
