D3A WANNABEE:

Aircraft started out as a Vultee-Valiant BT-13
basic trainer, this type of aircraft trained tens of thousands of pilots during WWII.

MOVIE STAR:

Nine were modified to replicate the Japanese Navy Aichi Type 99, D3A (Val) Dive Bomber for the 1970 film Tora, Tora, Tora. Along with other modified Vultee BT-13s and North American T-6 Texan aircraft to replicate the Japanese Navy B5N(Kate Torpedo Bomber)and the Mitsubishi A6M Zero for the movie.

MOVIE OF INTEREST:

Tora, Tora, Tora this 1970 movie dramatized the events leading up to the December 7,1941 attack on Pearl Harbor by Japanese Naval Forces. The film
explored both the American and Japanese views.
I'm gonna call it a day and watch the 1970 movie Tora, Tora, Tora...
