USS Higbee (DD-806), not Highbee
Air Group 89 embarked on USS Antietam (CV-36) at Norfolk on May 23 1945
Antietam was on the way to raid Wake on Aug 15, 1945 when recalled due to the Japanese surrender. It never saw any combat during WWII.
