INTERESTING PHOTO THIS COULD BE A QUALIFYING
CLASS FOR THE MP40, 9MM SUBMACHINE GUN.
FROM LEFT TO RIGHT IN PHOTO, FIRST OFFICER WEARING THE M43 SHORT DOUBLE BREASTED TUNIC WITH THE M43 FIELD CAP, AND GLOVES, LOOKS LIKE HIS CUFF TITLE LOCATED ON RIGHT SLEEVE COULD BE FOR THE "GROSDEAUTSCHLAND" DIVISION THAT'S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME,BUT I'M GUESSING HERE. HE'S ALSO WEARING LATE ISSUED ANKLE BOOTS.

SECOND OFFICER CAN'T IDENTIFY HIS RANK BUT HE'S WEARING A DOUBLE BREASTED GREATCOAT WITH GREEN-BACKED COLLAR W/FRENCH CUFFS AND CUFF TITLE ON SLEEVE, HAS SAM BROWNE LEATHER BELT, PEAK HAT AND JACKBOOTS.

OLDER SOLDIER, COULD BE WITH THE RESERVES HE'S QUALIFYING ON THE MP40 THAT'S MY GUESS. CAN'T SEE ANY RANK LOOKS LIKE HE'S WEARING THE M1940 FIELD BLOUSE WITH PLEATS AND SCALLOPED POCKET FLAPS.
EQUIPMENT 98K AMMO POUCHES AND M38 SIDECAP, THIS VETERAN, MUST HAVE BEEN IN THE OLD CAVALERY BECAUSE HE'S WEARING LEATHER RIDING BOOTS AND BREECHES.

NCO WITH MP40, COULD BE A SENIOR SERGEANT OR SERGEANT MAJOR BUT THIS IS ONLY A GUESS, BY WHAT I'M ABLE TO SEE IN THIS PHOTOGRAPH. HE'S BEEN ISSUED THE M43 FIELD CAP AND LATE PATTERN M1943 TUNIC WITHOUT PLEATS OR THE SCALLOPED POCKET FLAPS.
WHAT'S INTERESTING IS THE DARK-GREEN COLLAR ON HIS M1943 TUNIC, MOST OFFICERS AND NCO'S HAD THE GRAY COLLAR REPLACED WITH THE GREEN ONE AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE AT THE TAILOR. ALSO WEARS CUFF TITLE ON SLEEVE, TROUSERS W/SHORT ANKLE BOOTS. HE'S BEEN AWARDED THE IRON CROSS 2ND.CLASS THE RIBBON IS WORN ON SECOND BUTTON HOLE OF THE UNIFORM.

THE VOLKSSTRUM DID HAVE ITS OWN ARMBAND AND WAS IDENTIFIED WITH WHITE LETTERS, THAT SAID DEUTSCHER VOLKSSTURM WEHRMACHT, W/THE EAGLE INSIGINA.
THE ARMBAND WAS BLACK WITH WHITE LETTERS,RED AND WHITE TRIM TOP AND BOTTOM.
