Russian soldiers or any fighting man living in the mud, it can be exhasuting can you imagine eating, sleeping and trying to stay warm during the winter or rainy season.
I've seen the best of men break down, seen and heard them cry if someone told me they never cried, in war, under those circumstances, they had no soul, I've done my share of all the above...

Dmitri has been issued the Degtyarov DP Light machine gun, fires the 7.62x54R round fed from the top by a 47 round pan type magazine, the weapon fires the same round, as the Moisin-Nagant Model 1891 Rifle.
He is wearing a waterproof rain cape warn over his field uniform.
His comrade Nicolai is wearing the standard pattern uniform with 1940 pattern steel helmet.
