Heinkel He111H series equipped with shrouded exhaust common to H-series.
ADDED FIREPOWER:
To defend itself the He111
added 1 x 20mm cannon to the nose, 1 x 13mm machine gun and 7 x 7.92mm machine guns or the Mg 81 twin mounted 7.92mm machine gun.
BEHIND ENEMY LINES:
The Soviets captured vast amounts of German Military Equipment on the Eastern Front some were salvaged, refurbished and put to use with Russian forces.
RUSSIAN HEINKEL'S
Some captured He111's were put on display, while others were put backing airworthy condition, another operated as a tug for the Antonov transport glider and used to fly supplies to partisan forces.
Others were tested or became a source for spare parts.
Czechoslovakia operated the He111 after WWII, some were converted to passenger airliners, while others were operated by the post-war Czech Air Force for a number of years...until replaced by modern Soviet equipment.
