Messerschmitt Bf-110C-5 (5F+CM) Werk Nr.2177 was flown by Oberleutnant/1st.Lieutenant Friedrich Karl Runde was on a reconnaissance mission on 21 July 1940, aircraft was shot down.

INTELLIGENCE REPORT: Captured Messerschmitt Bf-110C-5 was assigned toAufklarungsgruppe 14 AufklGr.4(14) code (5F+CM)Later given the British serial number (AX-772) Aircraft was shot down by RAF Hurricanes in 1940later rebuilt with parts from other salvaged Bf-110s. AX-772 was used until 1946 and laterscrapped in 1947/48. During World War II the British captured a number of German and Italian aircraft, with enough spare parts from other machines, to keep a few flying for testing and flight evaluation.Enemy aircraft were tested at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, UK. Aircraft also toured RAF bases to train pilots in new tactics in how to fight against these combat aircraft. CAMOUFLAGE: Luftwaffe camouflage, markings and codes were painted out, and replaced with RAF markings. RAF camouflage upper surfaces dark green & brownunder surfaces in yellow.
