The Luftwaffw, like most other countries in
Europe had NCO pilots.
As the war continued the German NCO's moved
in rank and became commissioned officers.
The pilots who survived flying combat later went on to become aces, and later commanded fighter groups

Two enlisted NCO's or Unteroffizier,the man standing on the wing, is a ground crewmen.
The other is a flying NCO, each man has the
same rank, as indicated by the one gull and silver gray cord around the collar tabs.
The pilot is wearing the mesh netting and leather LKpN 101 flying helmit and used the throat type microphone. That's my guess.
