Famous WW2 Quote
"All right, they're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us... they can't get away this time."Lt. Gen. Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, at Guadalcanal

The Submarine Base is at lower left; the Navy Yard is in the upper left; and Ford Island is in the top right. Submarine tender USS Holland is on the left at the Submarine Base. Alongside her are submarines USS Sturgeon, USS Spearfish, USS Saury, USS Seal, and USS Sargo. Patrol Gunboat USS Niagara is alongside the wharf ahead of Holland. Ships at the supply depot, upper center, are the minelayer USS Oglala and the liner SS Maui approaching the wharf. Among the ships at the piers in the extreme upper left are cruisers USS Indianapolis and USS San Francisco and auxiliary ship USS Antares. The battleships on “Battleship Row” next to Ford Island, in upper right, are USS Oklahoma (left), USS Arizona (right), and just the bow of USS Nevada visible (extreme right).
