- USS S-35 arrived at Dutch Harbor, US Territory of Alaska, ending her seventh and final war patrol. ww2dbase [S-35 | Unalaska | CPC]
- Two missions were planned against Rabaul, New Britain. The fighter sweep mission was canceled due to poor weather, but the bombing raids proceeded as planned. 20 B-24 bombers escorted by 20 F4U and 20 F6F fighters dropped 70 1,000-pound bombs.
