- The Republic of Indonesia formed the People's Security Forces (TKR) upon the remnants of the Japanese-established People's Security Council (BKR). - Thomas Dodd interrogated Wilhelm Keitel for several hours in the afternoon in Nürnberg, Germany, and the session was observed by Soviet representatives.
