  • The Republic of Indonesia formed the People's Security Forces (TKR) upon the remnants of the Japanese-established People's Security Council (BKR).   • General Philippe Leclerc arrived at Tan Son Nhut Airfield in Saigon, Cochinchina, French Indochina to take command of all French forces in the region. ww2dbase [Main Article | CPC]
  • Thomas Dodd interrogated Wilhelm Keitel for several hours in the afternoon in Nürnberg, Germany, and the session was observed by Soviet representatives.
