• Major Werner Streib, one of the Luftwaffe's leading night-fighter pilots, flying a prototype He 219 V9 A-0/R2 aircraft from Venlo, Netherlands, destroyed five RAF bombers over Germany between 0105 and 0155 hours in one sortie. The bombers were heading toward Düsseldorf, Germany. ww2dbase [AC]
