- In Jerusalem, Israel, Yad Vashem recognized Edmonds as “Righteous Among the Nations,” their highest honor reserved for non-Jews who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. Edmonds is one of only five Americans to be so honored. He is the only member of the United States armed forces to receive this honor and the only one honored for saving American Jews. ww2dbase [Roddie Edmonds | DS]
