- An award presentation from Yad Vashem for Roddie Edmonds' addition to the list of "Righteous Among the Nations" took place at the Israeli embassy in Washington, DC, United States, presided over by the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Yisrael Meir Lau. United States President Barrack Obama also spoke, the first time a sitting American president spoke at the Israeli Embassy.
