  • Sir Hughe Knatchbull-Hugessen, the British ambassador in Ankara, Turkey, telegraphed London with the main points that Adolf Hitler intended to cover in a speech dealing with his peace proposals. Turkey
  • Colonel Otto Hatz, Hungarian military attaché to Ankara, Turkey, defected to the Soviets, bringing with him documents about the Hungarian Army and fortifications on the Danube River.
