- Allied bombers attacked Schaffhausen, Switzerland, mistaking it for the German city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein, killing 40 people; interestingly, a group of small factories producing munitions and aircraft parts to be sold to Germany was destroyed in this accidental raid. ww2dbase [Schaffhausen | CPC]
