  • At 1500 hours, a Japanese convoy containing cargo ship Momoyama Maru departed Hansa Bay, Australian Territory of New Guinea. At 1830 hours, US 5th Air Force B-17 bombers attacked the convoy northwest of Wewak, Australian Territory of New Guinea. Momoyama Maru was hit, killing nine. ww2dbase [Hansa Bay | CPC]
