21 Dec 1932 | Wernher von Braun attempted to light a rocket with a four meter long pole at Kummersdorf weapons research center south of Berlin, Germany; the rocket's motor exploded. |
16 Apr 1934 | Wernher von Braun completed his thesis "Solution to the Problem of the Liquid Propellant Rocket", but it was kept a secret by the German Army. It would not be published until 1960. |
