Letters from Iwo Jima Nominated for Four Academy Awards

To date, Letters from Iwo Jima has already won honors from the Golden Globe, the Broadcast Film Critics Association, the Chicago Film Critics Association, and several other groups. Now, this Clint Eastwood-directed film is up for the running for four Oscars at the 79th Academy Awards. It has been nominated for:
- Best Picture
- Best Director (Clint Eastwood)
- Best Original Screenplay (Iris Yamashita)
- Best Sound Editing (Alan Robert Murray)
The 79th Academy Awards ceremony is to be held on 25 Feb 2007. In the United States, it is to be televised on the channel ABC.
