Famous WW2 Quote
"All that silly talk about the advance of science and such leaves me cold. Give me peace and a retarded science."Thomas Dodd, late 1945

Developed from the KV series tank, the "IS"
for Joseph Stalin was armed w/1x122mm main gun with a rate of fire of 2 rounds per minute, this is slow in a combat situation and carried 28 rounds of 122mm ammo, but I'm sure crews carried as many rounds as possible.
Secondary armament was 3x7.62mm DT machine guns w/2500 rounds. One mounted in the turret
one in the hull and one in the rear of the turret. Crews kept the turret turning, to keep enemy troops from attacking with a lot indiscriminate firing of the machine guns,to keep enemy trooops from attacking the rear.
The commander had 1x12.7mm DShK mounted on top of the turret w/250 to 500 rounds of ammo.
Improved IS-2 models mounted the D25T 122mm gun w/improved loading and fire-control.
"IS-2" was powered by 1xdiesel, 12-cylinder
engine of 600hp. Total number produced 2500
vehicles.
The IS, was capable of taking on the German Tiger and Panther tanks
