Adolf Hitler is most remembered for the start of the Second World War, the Holocaust
and Genocide in Europe.
The division of Europe into East and West, the Cold War that was played out between the United States and the Soviet Union, the creation of NATO on one side and the Warsaw Pact on the other.

MILLIONS MURDERED:

Men, Women, Children, Handicapped, Sick, Aged
POWs, Forced Labor, Concentration Camp Inmates. The massive Military and Civilian war-related deaths. The 5,000 Germans who paid with their lives after the failed July 1944 plot against him.
Over 300,000 Germans were murdered, executed
disappeared or died in concentration camps
throughtout Europe.

THE TWO GERMANY'S: EAST AND WEST

After World War II, Germany was controlled by the United States, Soviet Union, France and Britain. The Soviet Union controlled
East Germany, with its satellite State the
German Democratic Republic.
The other half of Germany, controlled by the wartime Allies became the Federal Republic of Germany.
Both East and West Germany would become the front-line during the Cold War each Superpower setting up Alliances, the West with NATO and the East with the Warsaw Pact. This political and military alliance would dominate Europe and the Cold War for the next 44 years, until the collapes of the USSR.

The term Genocide: Is a combination of the Greek word "genos"(race)and the Latin word 'cide'(killing) To learn more about Adolf Hitler click on number 10 listed here.

THE FUHRERBUNKER TODAY IN BERLIN:

Location: Wilhelmstrasse 77, Berlin, Germany the
site of the one time Fuhrerbunker is now covered over and is now a parking lot...all traces of the Fuhrer's wartime bunker is wiped away.

SEE DER BUNKER:

Did you know that you can visit der bunker in
Berlin! Berlin unterwelten Tours takes you to see a reproduction of Hitler's bunker...

ACHTUNG! CHECKPOINT CHARLIE:

During the Cold War, this checkpoint was the main crossing between East & West Berlin from the American sector, into the Soviet Sector.

THE COLD WAR IS NOW BUSINESS:

Guarding the checkpoint today, are not real soldiers, but actors all the equipment they have are props.

TOURIST TRAP:

Small business, shops, food stalls and local eateries line the street.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE VOPO'S GONE:

Brandenburg Gate, Berlin separated East & West Berlin during the Cold War. This famous monument was built in the 18th Century during the reign of Frederich Wilhelm II, of Prussia.
The Brandenburg Gate is a symbol of Berlin.
Today tourists can walk freely through the gate as Berlin is now the Capitol of Germany. Actors now guard the gate dressed as soldiers for the tourists and pose for photos...

ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME:

I traveled on leave, while stationed in West Germany from 1966 to 1967 to Berlin it was a real experience nothing like it is now, for the tourists.
It was real you couldn't even get near the Berlin Wall, GIs and Berlin Police on one side and East German VoPo's on the other.
Traveled in West Berlin in April 1967 with my travel orders on me, at all times in English, French, German and Russian.
During my visit to West Berlin the Germans bought me beer it was the only place in Western Europe they did...went on to visit Paris, France in June and London, England in September, crossed the English channel by ferry.
By November 1967 I was in the field with the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam's Mekong Delta to September 1968. Returned to Vietnam in June 1969 served with(I FFV)I Field Forces Vietnam in the CentralHighlands until April 1970. I retuned home a much older, 22 year old Sergeant...

PORTRAIT OF EVIL:

Color file photograph taken at Hitler's secret military headquarters in East Prussia, better known as the Wolfschanze (Wolf's Lair)

PROTECTING THEE FUHRER:

Hitler was protected by the (RSH) Reich Security Service within the complex, patrols surrounding the complex. Special armored units from the Wehrmacht the (FBB) Fuhrer Begleit Brigade and other SS units.

HOME AT THE WOLFSCHANZE:

Hitler started his day around 9 or 10am he would walk along with his dog Blondie. Later he would read the mail that arrived by air or train, around
noon his Generals would have a situation briefing
that would last about two hours.

Lunch was served at 2pm, after lunch Hitler would deal with non-military matters for the rest of the day.

CALLING IT A DAY:

Coffee was served at 5pm followed with another military briefing at 6pm, dinner at 7:30 after dinner spending time watching films.

Later he would retire for the day to his private quarters he would play Wagner, Beethoven or other symphonies or operas. Hitler spent over 800 days at this military headquarters Eva Braun never visited this complex.

TOTAL WAR 24/7:

During Hitler's 800 day stay at his headquarters it is estimated that 36,000 people died each day they suffered from combat deaths, disease, starvation, massacres and genocide. Its really impossible to determine the total numbers the data keeps changing...

THE FUHRER'S HIDEOUT:

The Wolf's Lair was build in near the Russian border to protect Hitler and other Nazi officials
and it was located in East Prussia, which is now part of Poland.
The complex had as many as two hundred buildings and bunkers, had its own power plant and railway station.

FUR DER FUHERE UND DAS VATERLAND:

The Fuhrer was protected by special Wehrmacht and
SS units that were supported with tanks and other armored vehicles.

NOTHING LIKE IT FOR HOME DEFENSE:

Surrounded by three rings of barbed wire, w/ land mines, guard towers, fortified bunkers, patrols inside and outside the perimeter 24/7,machine gun positions, security check points along with anti- aircraft positions, it was heavily camouflaged and was changed with the seasons.
By 1944 the complex served not only Hitler, but
Field Marshals, Generals, Adjutant's, Staff Officers, Aids and Other Ranks.

OFFICE STAFF:

Hundreds were needed for Administrative Work, Cooks, Waiters, Food Tasters, Maintenance Workers Drivers, Mechanics and other Support Staff.

BEGINNING OF THE END:

As the Red Army was advancing into the Reich orders were issued to destroy the Wolf's Lair on January 24, 1945, by retreating German forces.
Soviet forces arrived on January 27, 1945 and moved on to Berlin. After WWII it took until 1955
to clear the 54,000 land mines and other munitions
surrounding the area.

MILITARY SECRETS ARE THE MOST FLEETING:

Did you know that U.S Intelligence had knowledge
of the Wolf Lair's existence and its exact location.

The Russians had knowledge of the location early in the war, but never succeeded in bombing the complex.

Britain's MI6 passed on vital information about the Wolf's Lair.

FACE OF TYRANNY:

Back to the color file photograph taken at the
Wolf's Lair in East Prussia. As Fuhrer and Dictator of Nazi Germany and Commander of the Armed Forces, Hitler had a number of different uniforms and visor caps.
Hitler wore a brown uniform during the period of 1933-1939. Later in 1939, at the start of the war
from 1939-1945 the brown Nazi Party uniform was replaced with a field-gray military uniform that he wore, until his death in the Fuhrerbunker in Berlin.
Above photo shows Hitler wearing the field-gray military visor cap, with a brown velvet band of the party, with army style national wreath, cockade and eagle. Above the visor are the gold bullion gilt cords with added gold bullion piping around the hats top.
Hitler is wearing a short double breasted coat, with his field-gray uniform coat underneath with shirt and tie with black trousers.

THERE ARE A LOT OF ADJECTIVES THAT COULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH HITLER BUT...

RELICS SOVIET STYLE: HISTORY'S MYSTERIES

So what happened to all his stuff? such as caps, uniforms and everything else, I'm sure the Russians got their hands on as much as they could while searching the Fuhrerbunker, what about the Walther pistol he used to shoot himself? and the brass cyanide capsule containers both he and Braun used? Are those and other items locked away in some Secret Russian Government Archive?

THE THIRD REICH: RUNNNG OUT OF TIME

With the Western Allies June 6, 1944 D-Day invasion of Normandy (Normandie) and the Soviet Unions advance from the east, Germany was left with very little time until total defeat.
Losses in men and equipment left Hitler's war machine severely weakened.
Allied bombing raids during the day and at night devastated Germany's cities and industries that created a nightmare world for the German people.

ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT:

An attempt on Hitler's life by those who opposed him hoping for a military takeover afterward was the only way to bring an end to Adolf Hitler's
dictatorship.
A bomb was placed in Hitler's Headquarters in
Rastenberg, located in East Prussia better known as the Wolf's Lair, which is now a part of modern Poland. On July 20,1944 the bomb exploded during a staff meeting killing and wounding a number of officers, as if by fate, Hitler escaped death.

PAID WITH THEIR LIVES:

Hoping to kill Hitler the conspirators tried to launch a coup anyway, but with little support they failed and over 5,000 people were executed by Hitler.

HITLER'S LAST GAMBLE:

One of Hitler's last gambles, was the Ardennes
Offensive in Dec'44/Jan'45 troops and equipment needed against the Russians was drawn away from the east to fight in the west, this allowed the Red Army to built its strength and start its last offensive, its ultimate goal the capture of Berlin and the end of WWII.

WORLD WAR II ENDED MAY 7,1945

After almost six-years of war, millions and millions dead, Europe in ruins, it has been estimated that as many as 100,000,000 million or more died worldwide during WWII.

DEATH OF THE THIRD REICH: GERMANY OCCUPIED

After WWII, the Allies didn't want to fight Germany a third time, and the country was divided into occupied zones. The United States, Britain, France and the Soviet Union occupied their own zone. Even Berlin was occupied by the West and the USSR. After the Western zones joined into the new Federal Republic of Germany in 1949, the country remained occupied.
The Soviet Union occupied what was then East Germany and its zone in Berlin within East Germany. This status remained, until the fall of both the USSR and East Germany. Germany once again became an independent country with the unification of East and West Germany in 1990 with Berlin once again the capital.

THE HITLER MYSTERY: LEGENDS & MYTHS

What is historical truth, in reality it might not be what it seems at all. How much fiction that is reported to be the truth over time becomes to so many believable fact.
Did Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun really commit suicide in the bunker or has it been one of the greatest hoaxes of all time. Evidence shows that something happened in and around the bunker, but did the Fuhrer really die there. The surviving witnesses have come forth, but then again what is the real truth.

CONSPIRACY THEORY:

How could Hitler and Eva Braun escape from Berlin
did they leave before Russian forces surrounded the city. Did doubles stand in for them and where later murdered.
How many knew about the doubles, if any and if someone did stumble upon this secret, they very well paid with their lives. This last act of World War II will always remain one of the 20th Century's most unsolved mystery's.

THE FIRST CASUALTY IN ANY EVENT IS ALWAYS TRUTH:

Facts based on eyewitness accounts proven and unproven are always rejected at first based on what others see as the real truth, false history
whatever happened in the Fuhrerbunker on April 30,1945 could very well be buried in the National Archives of Nations.
Over the past decades since the end of World War II, information has leaked about the events of World War II from one source or another while at the same time thousands of wartime documents have been held secret and classified for the next 100 years why?
Eyewitnesses to this event are now dead that are known of if any are still alive which is very doubtful as to what really happened they'll take any secrets they know to their grave.

AND SO THE STORY GOES: 20th CENTURY HOAXES

Hitler escaped Berlin along with Eva Braun flew to Spain, no it was Argentina after all many of those Nazis escaped to Argentina.

Hitler fled to Spain or Argentina lived there in safety until the Spanish or Argentine Secret Police murdered him to keep the secret and not to be embarrassed...

Stalin didn't believe Hitler was really dead, but told the Allies he was and kept whatever evidence he held to himself.

Hitler escaped by submarine to his secret base in Antarctica and found his Shangri La.

Growing up in Los Angeles, Ca. during the 1950s early 60s the local tabloids were always full of stories about Hitler's escape.

Once again I thank the editor/ww2db for allowing me once again to gaze into my crystal ball

HITLER: STALIN'S SPECTOR

At wars in Europe 1945, Nazi Germany was crushed, the USSR achieved victory over National Socialism at a cost of millions. Stalin didn't believe his arch-enemy Adolf Hitler was dead.

STALIN'S PARANOIA: FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

Stalin was obsessed with the events surrounding
Hitler's last day's in the Fuhrerbunker in Berlin
Surviving personnel that were in the bunker and later captured by soviet forces in Berlin, were transported to Moscow.
Stalin assigned his NKVD agents the for-runner of the KGB to create a secret detailed report about Hitler.
The survivors were thrown into prison and faced interrogated for hours, days, months and years all
their stories, first-hand accounts, were checked, re-checked, cross examined and repeated over again

LET'S GO OVER IT AGAIN AND AGAIN:

When the NKVD was convinced they had the fullest account of what happened in the Fuhrerbunker the
report was completed. In 1949 the report was sent
to Stalin as a single copy.

STATE SECRET:

The 413 page report was read only by Stalin, and filed away. After Stalin's death thousands of documents were transported to the Communist Party Archives in Moscow, among them was the report on Hitler.
Another copy was produced for Stalin's successor Nikita Khrushchev in 1959 and marked 462A.
This report has been made available from Party Archives since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Sources report that President Putin has a copy in his safe, and is now listed as a Kremlin Treasure

Today, you can own your copy of this report that has been translated into English.

THE EVIL OF HITLER & STALIN:

Hitler & Stalin held knives at each others backs and both were mirror images of the other However,
Stalin's evil was far greater than Hitler's Stalin
murdered over 25,000,000 million not counting WWII losses. Hitler is what I list as a murderer
learning as you go.

To most people its been Adolf Hitler & The Third Reich that has attracted the most interest in mass murder but, Stalin's crimes will always out-weigh anything Hitler ever did.
Communism has murdered and enslaved millions and millions in Eastern Europe and throughout the world. It amazes me that even today there are still people that live under such an evil system
and those that still believe in this system.

THREE OF A KIND, WELL ALMOST:

Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini were all suspicious of each other. Mussolini has always been looked upon as the lessor of two evils, but nevertheless
he took Italy toward disaster and enslaved that nation, forcing Italy to become a vassal state.
Hitler respected Stalin's but he was always suspicious of Stalin's expansion of Communism.

THE THIRD MAN:

Hitler looked upon Mussolini as a simpleton and held no respect for the Italian Dictator by Hitler
maintaining friendliness towards him, Hitler was able to exploit his usefulness.

Stalin believed Mussolini was nothing but a puppet
to Hitler and paid little attention to him.
Mussolini on the other hand, was awestruck and envious of both Hitler & Stalin. Mussolini's big mistake was allowing himself and Italy to be Hitler's Toaday and hope to collect a few crumbs off the table of conquest.
Hitler told Mussolini not to worry about Stalin, because Hitler convinced him that the Soviet Union wouldn't be a problem, as long as Italy remained loyal to the Axis.

Toaday:

Metaphor, figure of speech yes man, follower, minion, henchman, devotee, lapdog

DARK PAGES OF HISTORY:

FOOL THE MASSES:

History sometimes its like sweeping past events under the "So Called Rug" Every nation at one time or another has done wrong, and has taken a dark path, and its leaders taking its people along with it.

To some its easy to point a finger at a certain time in history, Hitler, Stalin or Mao Tse Tung
the names may change, but events will continue to hunt the human race, as long as people are blind enough to let it happen.
Different Ideologies and Politics keep groups of
people against each other, keeps others in poverty and give false hope, that they will have something different, the truth is that day will never see light. Nations put themselves into situations and believe they are right, but no one nation or people can play God with the lives of millions. You can only put the blame on the human race.

NO ONE EVIL IN THE WORLD:

Hitler's Genocide of the Jews and the rest of the people in Europe created the Holocaust that was a horrible event in human history. Genocide has been
going on in one form or another for centuries its
been the development of technology that has made mass murder easier and efficient.

COMMUNIST BODY COUNT:

Communism has enslaved and murdered more people than the Nazis, but some how, its always been the Nazis that people focus on. In the world there is no single evil.
Communist regimes of the 20th Century have invaded
nations, eradicated cultures, religion, destroyed
freedom and bend its will toward the state.
The lives lost due to this evil system had been estimated between 100,000,000 to 250,000,000 million human beings, that are known of.

HOLOCAUST & GENOCIDE:

Man made Famine, Purge's, Mercy Killings, Hostage
and Prisoners, Concentration and Extermination Camps, Gulags, Deaths never reported along with the missing the list goes on and on.
There are those who will listen, and those who won't, its not my intention to infuriate anyone. I've studied more than I could ever write down.

COMMENTS LISTED ARE MINE ALONE AND DO NOT REFLECT THE EDITOR/WW2DB IN ANY WAY.

There are three groups of people, Those that see,
Those that see when shown and Those that never see.

SICK CALL:

Studying the above file photo, one can see how Hitler has changed. He looks older and suffered from Parkinson's disease, with a tremor in his left hand most people grab items to hold.
In the photo you can see a rolled document and his right fist is tight and handwriting would be almost scribbled.

PARKINSON'S DISEASE:

Progressive, degenerative disorder of the nervous system. Signs are tremor that starts on one side of the body, in this case shaking of Hitler's left hand, a slow gait, stooped posture, voice reduced to a whisper unable to make decisions and a dull stare with no focus on surroundings.

AGED AND NOT SO IMPECCABLY DRESSED:

For a man in his late 50s, Hitler looks a decade older. His uniform coat looks old, shabby and wrinkled. I'm not a medical doctor but this is the way I see Adolf Hitler near the end of his life...

LIFE AFTER DEATH: ADOLF HITLER

SCATTERED EFFECTS:

We live in a world altered by Hitler and World War II, but what about his personal effects, they are scattered across the world and found their way into Government archives, private collections and museums.

PIN AND A PHONE:

The US Army has one of Hitler's telephones he used to conduct the Reich's business how many people died as a result of such telephone calls
where the pins are, is a matter of speculation &
conjecture...

YOU'VE GOT MAIL: BERLIN, NO RETURN TO SENDER

Adolf Hitler's mail has even survived him the Soviets captured bags of mail addressed to the Fuhrer, the mail is stored today in Russian Government Archives along with other personal effects and documents.

LITERARY TREASURES:

Besides Hitler's paintings and watercolors and his personal book collection, is his book Mein Kampf its still being published today around the world.

Quote From Mein Kampf

"If you win, you need not have to explain...If you loose, you should not be there to explain"

His book collection is located in the Library of Congress and kept in its rare book & Special Collections Dept. additional books are located at Brown University, his paintings are in storage with the US Army, other paintings and watercolors have surfaced in Europe over the decades.

ROOT OF EVIL:

Adolf Hitler is seen today in photographs, films,
documentaries, books and even novels its a vivid record of evil the world should never ever forget or experience again, people forget and somewhere in the shadow evil is always waiting, some are blind to evil, while others can see a danger I've remembered what Leonardo da Vinci once said:

"There are three types of people, Those that see, Those that see when shown and Those that never see"

LAST WILL AND POLITICAL TESTAMENT:

Original duplicates of Hitler's last will and testament are located in the National Archives, Collage Park Maryland USA and the Imperial War Museum, London, UK. Hitler's impact on the world forever is WWII and the 100,000,000 million who died during that conflict and afterward, Europe devastated along with the political split between Eastern Europe and Western Europe, the rise of the world's two Superpowers, the United States and the Soviet Union, the military alliances and the decades long "Cold War" that followed.

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY:

After WWII surviving Nazi officials were arrested and prosecuted for war crimes. Those that were caught were hung or served prison sentences, but the one who was responsible for all the pain and madness wasn't arrested or stood trial, Adolf Hitler escaped through death.
Thousands of Nazis escaped justice who were part of mass murder of such heinous and unfathomable crimes, however over the decades many have been arrested or met death in strange ways and still the hunt goes on.

I THANK THE EDITOR/WW2DB FOR ALLOWING ME TO CONTINUE THE STUDY OF ADOLF HITLER.

MUSIC FOR THE MASSES:

During the Hitler era, certain music was banned
Classical music seen as "Good German Music" was played. The Nazis worked to create censorship to appease the German people. Jazz and other types of music were outlawed this type of politics led
to thousands of artists and musicians banned from continuing their work.

THE FUHRER'S SHORT LIST:

Hitler's favorite composers were:

Ludwig van Beethoven
Richard Wagner
and Anon Bruckner

What would Hitler have done about Rock "N" Roll, Heavy Metal and even Rap! this crazy and insane man would have flipped!

MUSIC PLAYED TO ANNOUNCE HITLER'S DEATH:

1 May 1945, 21:30hrs. music from Wagner & Bruckner
were played. At 22:30hrs. it was announced that
Adolf Hitler had fallen with his troops defending Berlin. In truth Hitler didn't die fighting, but committed suicide in his Fuhrerbunker lies to the very end...I wonder what the German soldier that was fighting in Berlin and elsewhere would have thought if they really knew the Fuhrer committed suicide.

MOVIE OF INTEREST:

The Strange Death of Adolf Hitler (1943) filmed in black & white this is a real gem.

A man who is an Adolf Hitler look a like, to act
as a decoy against assassination attempts.
Ludwig Donath as Hitler.

Twilight Zone fans will remember "He's Alive" Season 4, Episode 106 shown Jan 24,1963. Ludwig Donath plays Ernest Gauz and Dennis Hopper plays a Hitler wannabee.

MEANWHILE IN MOSCOW:

Stalin declared Hitler's death a trick, finding his body became a number one political issue he ordered SMERCH the feared intelligence service the task to find Hitler's body, and to report to him alone. On 7 May 1945 SMERCH reported to Stalin
finding Hitler's remains along with Eva Braun in the Reich Chancellery garden.

ON TO MOSCOW:

Survivors from the bunker were taken to Moscow and questioned for hours, days and months some were held for years, about what really happened in the bunker. Stalin couldn't believe his old
nemesis Adolf Hitler committed suicide all reports
and documents completed by SMERCH were held as State Secrets and kept in Soviet archives for decades.
Stalin outlived both Hitler who committed suicide and Mussolini who was shot and hung by Italian partisans, Died March 5, 1953 there are questions about the Soviet Dictator's death to this day...

MYTHS & TRUTHS:

Did Stalin die by other's who were afraid he (Stalin) would enact another purge? and were afraid of their own lives. Whatever the truth Stalin died due to a lack of early medical care that could have saved his life. An autopsy report was never found, its believed he suffered from a brain Hemorrhage that spread will we ever really know the truth...

It's been my intention to share knowledge of WWII to be used as an historical tool. I thank the editor/ww2db for allowing me to leave this comment.

FUHRERBUNKER: BERLIN

We know the story about Hitler's last days, but did you know the bunker where lived in and later committed suicide, cost the Fatherland about 1.35 million Reich marks.
Construction started in 1943 with 4,000 workers working around the clock in three shifts the project was completed forty-eight hours ahead of schedule in 1944, built by Hochtief AG designed by Hitler's Chief Architect Albert Speer and Karl Piepenburg. The bunker complex was 3,000 square-feet.

The first part of the bunker known as the upper bunker construction started in 1936 had the kitchen and staff living quarters. the second part was known as the Fuhrerbunker the lower level started in 1943 it had Hitler's conference room, office, sitting room and bedroom with other rooms for staff and communications switchboard center and generator room. Bunkers were split between thirty small rooms.

Adolf Hitler, Nazi Germany, National Socialism and World War II will continued to be studied,

THE FUHRER'S PLACE IN HISTORY:

The misery caused by Adolf Hitler still staggers
the imagination, to even believe this human being was conceived and really lived among humanity. Hitler has been recorded on newsreel film, photographs, Hollywood movies and those movies made in Europe.
Historical research will continue along with books about his National Socialist Movement to the total defeat of Nazi Germany along with the destruction of much of Western Europe millions died with added millions wounded and missing even today remains of the dead are still being discovered decades after the end of World War II

As Dictator he later carried two Walther Pistols a Walther PPK in 7.65 and a Walther Model Eight in 6.35 this was the weapon he used to commit suicide in his Berlin Bunker.

SHOW ME THE MONEY:

From 1933 when Hitler became Chancellor until
his suicide in April 1945 the Fuhrer received about 700,000,000 that's 700 Million Reich Marks
from German corporations and other Industrialists
the Fuhrer also amassed other funds that have never been accounted for.
Hitler never paid taxes on his income or property I guess its one of the benefits of being the Fuhrer.
Hitler's income came from royalties from his book
"Mein Kampf" at one time Hitler was earning over
1,000,000 a year. Other royalties came from his likeness being used on political posters, post cards, postage stamps, official portraits and anything else he could think of...

PLAYING THE SYSTEM:

At that time German copyright was limited to ten years. Hitler being the Fuhrer, extended the law to suit himself for twenty-five years making sure those Reich Marks keep flowing Hitler benefited from any law he could change or replace.

NOT A MAN OF THE PEOPLE: HIS CUT

Did you know the Hitler produced hundreds of painting, many of them being seized by the
US Government at war's end, those paintings are in archives filed away.
However, in Europe and other parts of the world Hitler's paintings have surfaced from time to time and sold at auctions bring in thousands of dollars.
It has been estimated that Hitler's personal fortune was 6,000,000,000 Billion in property, art, books, royalties, cash and works of art stolen from museums across Europe and private collections.
Adolf Hitler has been dead for decades and is still he's looked upon as one of the most evil human beings in history. World War II has changed the world we live in and has been shown in film, documentaries and books. The events of WWII will be studied for decades to come. If anyone has more information add it to this comment...

KINGDOM OF IRON: PRUSSIA

Prussia was at one time a German state, that centered around Berlin, this was an era when
Germany existed only in small states, Prussia was one of the most powerful of all those states, and one of the Great powers in Europe in modern times.

WHY DID THE ALLIES DESTROY PRUSSIA

Not so fast. Long before the Allies destroyed Prussia, the Nazis took control of Prussia and control of its Government, and later broke up Prussia into small territorial units called (Gaue)
or districts, with the loss of its own independence on January 30, 1934.
The Nazis did this because they wanted a strong central and unified Government, with no other
opposition. However, the "Free State of Prussia"
was never abolished by the Nazis. Did you know that Adolf Hitler was a great admirer and student of Prussia, when your the Fuhrer, you can either change things or leave other things alone.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME: THE WOLF'S LAIR

Hitler even had his Fuhrerhauptquartiere or better known as the Fuhrer Headquarters located in Rastenberg, East Prussia. the Fuhrer's "Wolf's Lair" Prussia itself, was in fact by all means de facto dissolved. Hitler spent 800 days at his East Prussian Command Center.

BREAK ON THROUGH TO THE OTHER SIDE:

During WWII Prussia was just another cog in the German War Machine that supplied men, supplies and war material to the Reich. Prussia was also the doorway into the Third Reich by advancing Soviet divisions that were steam rolling their way across Europe and on to Berlin.

BEATING A DEAD HORSE: END OF PRUSSIA

The Nazis took control of Prussia and broke it up, way back in 1934. After WWII the Allied Control Council abolished and dissolved Prussia on February 25, 1947 what they believed to put an end to German militarism this was designed to assure post-war reconstruction of new civil Government for Germany and abolish anything left of National Socialism.

CUTTING IT ALL UP: FINGERS IN THE PIE

In the Soviet zone of occupation which later became the DDR, or East Germany in 1949, former Prussian territories were reorganized into states, but later abolished in 1952. Territory was taken by Poland Lithuania, Czechoslovakia and the USSR.

In the Western zone occupied by the USA, UK,
and France later became the Federal Republic of West Germany in 1949 all former Prussian territories were also divided up. For the next decades Europe would be divided into East and West. The Arms Race, Cold War and the spector of (MAD) Mutual Assured Destruction...

"PREUSSENS GLORIA"

Prussia disappeared from the map of Europe, but
at one time held great influence on German and European history, it also had its rival Austria
both countries wanted to control the German states....

TWILIGHT OF THE GODS: IN DER BUNKER

April 1945 in his Berlin bunker, Adolf Hitler was a physical wreck and looked older than his 56 years. At his door, death was waiting. His daily routine was in a neither world where time didn't matter, survivors recalled even at 1 am in the morning Hitler received information about the military situation. He would study maps and order his Generals to move armies around that didn't exist.

MORE BRIEFINGS: HOLD AND FIGHT

By mid morning the military briefings continued as Hitler met with his Generals. The commanders in the field reported that the troops were running out of ammunition, heavy weapons, supplies and medicine Hitler ordered that the troops stand and fight, this was military suicide.

WAS HITLER A TRUE VEGETARIAN: LAST MEALS

There is much debate was Hitler a true vegetarian
the myth lives on. He suffered from digestive problems his entire life, suffered from stomach cramps into his 40's
the cramps became more frequent, with diarrhea and constipation. Hitler became a vegetarian in the 1930's and eliminated meat, rich foods, from his diet, in favor of raw or cooked vegetables and whole grains.
However, Hitler didn't adopt this vegetarian diet
for any moral reason, but due to the fact he suffered from gastric problems (Flatulence) The Fuhrer also enjoyed his sweets he should have known better...

LAST MEALS:

Most mornings his breakfast was porridge, dry bread, orange juice he also drank tea and spring water. Reports of his last meal were spaghetti with light tomato sauce other sources claim he ate lasagna less than 40 hours later, he committed suicide with Eva Braun in the bunker

The study of Hitler's medical records hoped to give researchers the answers as to why he declined so fast in the last yeas and months of the war. Their have been many theories, was it Parkinson's disease, Tertiary syphilis or was it the combination of drugs into his system who really knows only more research and time will and another mystery will be solved many experts are no closer to agreeing on this subject than the day Hitler died.

DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME: PILL POPPER

Hitler took in different types of drugs as many as 92 different types, plus 63 different skin lotions.
By the summer of 1941 he was popping between 120 to 150 pills a week! plus injections as many a 10 a day anything could have killed him...Did you known that today Hitler's medical records and other surviving documents have been up for auction, some papers going between $1,000 to $2,000 dollars..
