Famous WW2 Quote

This photo is one of many that were taken during an exercise recorded by MovieTone News on 14 September 1936 off the coast of California. Destroyer Squadron 20 out of San Diego steamed in a number of formations and made maneuvers through smoke screens laid down by USN aircraft from VP-7, VP-9 and VP-11.
Other photos in this series confirm that the destroyer immediately off Monaghan's port side is USS Dale (DD-353), while the next destroyer to Dale's port side is USS Worden (DD-352). The other destroyer visible in the distant background MAY be USS Dewey (DD-349), but her hull number is slightly blurry in other photos taken from this relative vantage point.
