my father Jack N Arthur served aboard the Monaghan from May 1942 until her loss. He was 16 years old when he was assigned. He was ashore when they left for their last mission. He never recovered from losing his shipmates, they were his family. He joined his beloved crew in 2000. Rest in peace Dad
