According to the Navy’s roster of aircraft locations, Yorktown was only at sea with SB2C Helldivers during her shakedown cruise to Trinidad, 21 May 1943 through 17 Jun 1943. The Helldivers performed poorly during the shakedown cruise and both bombing squadrons had their 36 total Helldivers replaced with SBD-5 Dauntless bombers upon the carrier’s return to Norfolk. Thank you for bringing this up and the caption has been updated as to dates.

This may have been taken during her shakedown in Trinidad (5/21-6/18/43), or post shakedown/Panama Canal Transit/Pearl Harbor (7/1-24/43) operations, but on July 29 1943 she took on Air Group 5 equipped with SBDs, not SB2Cs, and her air groups remained SBD equipped until after the Truk Raid in mid-February 1944.
