WILL THE REAL FRANCO PLEASE STAND UP:
Franco and the military launched what they thought would be a quick coup d'etat against the Popular Front Government.
The coup failed, and led to the Spanish Civil War, Franco emerged as the leader of the Nationalist against the Popular Government with military help, from Italy and Nazi Germany Franco won the war.
WE'VE ONLY JUST BEGUN:
He dissolved the Spanish Parliament and
established a right-wing authoritarian regime that lasted until 1978. Hundreds of thousands died during the Civil war, and after the war.
During WWII Franco carried a policy of non-belligerency and later neutrality, his hold on Spain through austere measures, suppression
,censorship, imprisonment of political enemies and forced labor camps.
THE BEST OF FRIENDS:
During the Cold War, the United States established both diplomatic, military and trade with Spain. Franco continued to deal with both East and West
Did you know:
After Franco's death Spain moved towards democracy , and many symbols of the France regime such as the National Coat of Arms or flag with the Imperial Eagle, are banned by law in Spain...

Even though Franco ruled Spain with an iron fist, jailed and killed thousands, he even
found the time, to ban the bikini say people I'm not making this up.
The truth is: No matter who they might be political or religious that tell you not to do something, or make a law against something, are the one's doing it.

FRANCO STILL THE MASTER:
Staying out of WWII bought time for Spain,
played neutral, later tilted towards the Allies when Germany was going to be defeated, Franco stayed in power for thirty more years, received aid from the USA, wined & dined Eisenhower and continued its political associations with both East & West
later joined NATO.
