This photograph was taken from a USAAC airplane and is dated on its face as “6-8-32” but Saratoga was in drydock on 8 Jun 1932 leaving 6 Aug 1932 as the best interpretation. Note cruiser Astoria (New Orleans-class) under construction in the drydock in the upper right.
