Famous WW2 Quote
"We no longer demand anything, we want war."Joachim von Ribbentrop, German Foreign Minister, Aug 1939

The sword is being presented to Montgomery by Count Ribaucourt of Belgium and is inscribed, “AU LIBERATEUR DE BRUXELLES LE 3 SEPTEMBRE 1944. SES AMIS RECONNAISSANTS. OFFERT PAR COMTE DE RIBAUCOURT, LES MEMBERS DE L’ASSOCIATION DE MALTE, ET LES MEMBERS DU CERCLE DU PARC BRUXELLES” which translates as: To the Liberator of Brussels on September 3, 1944. His grateful friends. Offered by Count Ribaucourt, members of the Malta Association, and members of the Cercle du Parc of Brussels [a private club of Belgian aristocrats].
