To facilitate Church Services for the troops in the field, a number of mobile motor churches were provided by Public subscription. The first of these to arrive in France held a service at Montgomeryís headquarters on 28 Aug 1944. US General Dwight Eisenhower also attended these services.
What looks like a mitre on the vicarís head is really the crest of St. George painted on the side of the van.

Famous WW2 Quote
"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival."

Winston Churchill
