Rokossovsky is clearly wearing the 2 inch star of a Soviet Field Marshal in the photo, so is clearly no longer a General as indicated.

You are correct. Rokossovsky was promoted to Marshal of the Soviet Union in 1944. The caption has been corrected and thank you for pointing this out.
