Note that the sailor with the stylish hat does not have his hand on the firing mechanism. You wouldn’t want to be anywhere near where these three sailors are standing when those rockets went off. His hand is on the retainer handle that is releases the rocket retainers prior to launch. The retainer handle and the retainer clips can be better seen on the lower rack.
