Work is proceeding as planned on construction dry dock I. One of early plans was to build Battleship “J” here and Battleship “N” in dock II. But “J” was laid down in July 1939 and was laid down in Slip V instead. As shown in this July 1939 photograph work on construction dry dock II had not begun.
